3. The Magnetic Hardness Tester Produced in Italy
In 2012, the RS-MAG Magnetic hardness tester produced by Affri Company of Italy went public. There are pointer type and digital type of this instrument(As shown in the following picture).
Most of the instructure is the same with Austrian instrument, and is also made of hardness test head, magnetic crane and fixing frame concurrently the handle. The difference however,is that the Italian products are more exquisite, and achieve digital display. In the digital display instruments, the force transducer is also applied. The value of test force can be read on the displayer. The test operation is very simple, as long as pull the measuring rod downward, and keep 4 seconds can finish the test. The test hardness value can be read on dial head or digital player. The instrument applies power with a 6V rechargeable battery. The net weight is 25kg.
This Italian instrument has quite high test accuracy and simple test operation, being convenient to test workpiece margin. This instrument can be chosed to test both Rockwell and Brinell value. Its test method and accuracy comply with relevant international standard ISO 6508.2 and ISO 6506.2.
The only shortcoming of the tester is its large weight. As the portable hardness tester used on site, a weight of 25kg is obviously a little bit heavy, and will be very inconvenient to move.
4. The Magnetic Hardness Tester Produced in China
Mechanical Magnetic Hardness Tester
Shenyang Tianxing Testing Instruments Co.,Ltd. has been researching and developing 4 kinds of magnetic hardness testers since 2008. Among the testers, the earliest is the PHR(PHBR)-100 Magnetic Rockwell(Brinell and Rockwell) Hardness Tester. As shown in the following picture. This instrument gets a patent for Chinese utility model, and the patent number is ZL200820231921.9.
This instrument appeared earlier than the Italian one. Two magnetic chucks are applied in a creative way, which achieves the fixation of the test head on specimen. This structure reduces weight of the instrument greatly. The instrument is mainly made of two magnetic chucks and one hardness test head. There is a hand wheel force pressure structure. One dial head points at the test force value, one dial head applied on screw micrometer of the force pressure principle axis is used for precising indentation depth, and one applied on the reading hub wheel is used for reading Rockwell hardness value.
