Brinell hardness test has the advantages of good hardness representation, stable test data and good reproducibility. It is widely used in hardness testing of metal parts in electric power, pressure vessel, military industry, rail transit and other industries. PHB-3000 hydraulic Brinell hardness tester produced by our company adopts 3000kgf test force and 10mm carbide ball indenter. Its indication error and repeatability fully comply with relevant standards such as ISO and ASTM, and can be used for factory testing of foreign trade workpieces. During the use of PHB-3000, it is inevitable that the instrument will be inaccurate. Here are several treatment methods, hoping to have a better use experience.

1. Check whether the force loading times are normal

What needs to be emphasized is that PHB-3000 hydraulic Brinell hardness tester needs to apply force repeatedly to 3000kgf for 3 ~ 4 times to equivalent load holding time according to relevant standards. If you do not apply force enough, it will affect the measurement accuracy.

2. Whether the hardness block is expired

The standard hardness block has a service life. The service life of PHB-3000 hardness block is 1 year. The overdue use of hardness block will affect the readiness of hardness value.

3. Ball deformation or wear

The carbide ball used in the instrument may be deformed or worn due to long-term use or testing of hard workpieces. At this time, it is necessary to remove and rotate it and change a spherical surface for testing. If the deformation or wear is too large, it is necessary to replace it with a new ball.
