When you use Brinell function of PHBR-200 digital Magnetic Brinell and Rockwell hardness tester, if you meet problem of "too soft", please do as follwing step:

1.To check if you test the same position( means test the same indentation position twice)

2.When you test my standard HBW test block, please confirm you choose the No. 0 Curve (There is one Brinell indentation depth curve stored in the instrument (called Item No.0 curve), which is used to check up the accuracy of the test block of the instrument. However, that curve is not suitable all materials. Please calibrate the accuracy frequently when using depth-measuring method.)

Press "Menu", move the arrow to "Set up", press " Menu"

Move the arrow to "Curve selection" press "Menu", current curve number will be showed. Press "△" or "▽" to select the curve number.

Press “Conf” continuously to return to testing status.

turn it off and turn on again to test my HBW test block to see if it still show “too soft”

If you can not solve the “too soft” problem by my way mentioned above, and then please do steps of factory data reset as follows:

1.Press “Menu” button

2.Press“△” or “▽” to move arrow at “Others”, press “Menu” into next level menu.

3.Press“△” or “▽” to “Reset”, press “CONF” continuously until back to test status.

4.turn it off and turn on again to test my HBW test block

If this time it doesn’t show “ too soft”, it is OK. You just need to test my HBW test block and other HRC or HRB test blocks. To see if the testing value is within the allowable error range, if not, you just need to do calibration steps as it in the User’s Manual
